Terms of use

These are the terms on which you may use Ferrario. They are short because the product is narrow: it reads what you give it — documents and your own words — and shows you what is in them.

Pre-launch. Ferrario is not open to the public and has not been deployed. Ferrario is operated by Giorgio Vittorio Ferrario; if it is moved into a company, that company is named here before it takes over. The bracketed details below — the liability cap and the governing law — are set with counsel before public launch, not invented here.

What Ferrario is

Ferrario is a personal financial record, built first for students. You upload your own documents or tell its assistant about your money, an AI reads them, you confirm what it found, and Ferrario shows you your financial picture — dashboard, spending, your info, forecasts, portfolio and a life timeline — with every figure marked with where it came from: a document, something you told Ferrario, an estimate, or (in future) a bank.

The assistant is a character you choose — Bubo the owl by default, or one of twelve other animals, with one of five personalities. The character changes how it speaks, never what it is allowed to say.

What Ferrario is not

Ferrario does not give financial advice. It does not tell you what to buy, what to sell, or what to hold. It will explain what a financial instrument is, what your own figures show, and what has changed and why — and it will stop there, deliberately, every time.

This is not caution for its own sake. Recommending a specific investment to a specific person is a regulated activity under MiFID II, requiring a licence, a suitability assessment and a complaints process that Ferrario does not have. The boundary is enforced in the software itself, not only in the instructions given to the AI: text that pairs an instruction with a named instrument is refused before it can reach a screen. Ferrario is also not a bank, a payment service, a tax adviser, an accountant or a lawyer. It does not connect to your bank, never holds money, and never moves money. Forecasts, scenarios and the payment simulator are arithmetic on your own figures, not promises.

If you need advice, ask a regulated professional. Ferrario's job is to make you well prepared for that conversation.

Your account

• You must be at least 18.
• One account per person. It is yours; do not share the password. Turn on a second factor at Settings → Sign-in and security — once it is on, we cannot switch it off for you, which is the point of it. Keep your authenticator safe: losing it can mean losing access.
• Everything you upload must be yours, or something you are entitled to hold. Do not upload other people's financial documents without their knowledge.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account.

The demo

The Demo button opens a private practice account with an invented student's finances. Reopening it keeps your changes; Reset demo deletes that copy and starts again. On the hosted service, a daily cleanup removes copies once they are at least a day old, so removal may take until the next cleanup run. Do not upload real documents to the demo.

Sharing with other people

You can give someone else — a parent, an accountant, an executor — access to defined parts of your file. They see only what you ticked, they cannot delete your history, change your permissions or transfer ownership, and every access is written to your log. You can revoke it at any moment and the revocation takes effect on their next request.

What we ask of you

Do not attack the service, attempt to reach anyone else's data, upload malware, use Ferrario to break the law, or scrape it. Do not use it to build a competing dataset, and do not try to make the assistant produce advice or harmful content. Automated access outside a normal browser is not permitted without our written agreement. If you find a security problem, tell us at the address on the privacy policy and give us a fair chance to fix it before telling anyone else.

Accuracy, and where responsibility sits

The AI reads real documents and is usually right. It can be wrong. That is why nothing it reads reaches your figures until you have confirmed it, and why every figure shows the sentence it came from: you are always able to check, and checking is a designed step rather than an afterthought. Figures you type yourself are only as right as what you typed.

Ferrario does not warrant that figures are correct, that forecasts will happen, or that the service is uninterrupted. Forecasts are arithmetic on your own figures under stated assumptions — a projection, not a prediction — and the equation behind each one is shown so you can judge it.

Decisions you make about your money are yours. Ferrario makes them better informed; it does not make them.

Availability, and the price

Ferrario Personal is free. We may change what is included, and if we ever charge for something you are already using, you will be told beforehand and given the choice to leave with all of your data.

The service is provided as it is, and before launch it may change or stop without notice. We may suspend an account that is attacking the service or breaking these terms, and where we can we will say why.

Ending it

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Your data. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your files are removed from storage, then every record. Export first if you want a copy.

We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, having told you why unless telling you would itself cause harm.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under data protection law, which these terms do not touch.

Subject to that, and because Ferrario is provided free of charge, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for investment losses arising from decisions you took. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to [amount, set with counsel before launch].

Changes

We will show material changes in the product and ask you to acknowledge them. The version at the top of this page is what is recorded when you do.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction, set with counsel before launch], and the courts of that place have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
